RE: CENTRALISED ONLINE ADMISSION FOR CHILDREN BELONGING TO ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION AND DISADVANTAGED GROUPS {EWS & DG) FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2023-24 IN UNAIDED RECOGNISED PRIVATE SCHOOLS OF UT CHANDIGARH AS PER THE PROVISIONS OF THE RIGHT OF CHILDREN TO FREE AND COMPULSORY EDUCATION {RTE) ACT, 2009 / THE CAPITAL OF PUNJAB (DEVELOPMENT & REGULATION) ACT, 1952 AS APPLICABLE TO CHANDIGARH, THE CHANDIGARH LEASE HOLD OF SITES AND BUILDING RULES, 1973 AND OTHER GUIDELINES FRAMED/ISSUED THEREUNDER, INCLUDING UNDER THE ALLOTMENT OF LAND TO EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS (SCHOOLS), ETC ON LEASE-HOLD BASIS IN CHANDIGARH SCHEME 1996 (AS AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME) (1996 SCHEME).
- 1. Admissions in the EWS/DG category under RTE Act, 2009/UT Chandigarh School Land Allotment Act/Rules/regulations/conditions in the Entry Level Classes of the Private Unaided Recognized Schools (as applicable) of UT Chandigarh for Academic Session 2023-24 shall be conducted only through the Department's centralized COMPUTERIZED ONLINE ADMISSION SYSTEM at www.chdeducation.gov.in.

As per the provisions of RTE Act 2009 and other related instructions, the Area of Neighbourhood (O to 1 KM, l+ to 3 KM and beyond 3 KM), for admission in EWS/DG category in the Entry Level Classes of the Private Unaided Recognized Schools of UT Chandigarh, have been demarcated and uploaded on the website of the department i.e. online.chdeducation.gov.in . The Admissions of EWS/DG Category in the Entry Level Classes of the Private Unaided Recognized Schools of UT Chandigarh, shall be as:

- 4. No School shall admit any child of EWS/DG Category in offline at Entry Level Classes.
- 5. Online process shall be initiated on 2.1.2023 upto 31.1.2023 giving sufficient time to the applicants under EWS/DG category to submit the admission request. In case of change in dates, this will be informed.
- 6. The schools (govt and private) will put up help desk to facilitate the EWS&DG admission process.
- 7. Adequate publicity vide advt. and press note shall be issued by the Department, however the schools must reach out to the eligible to ensure the interested and eligible are able to make use of this opportunity for admission.
- 8. The Entry Level Class in each such School will be notified in the online form.
- 9. Age criteria for admission (as per NEP 2020) in the Entry Level Classes 2023-24 will be as:-

- 13. The computerized draw of lots for Online Applications received from EWS/DG Category students/applicants for admission at the Entry Level Classes will be conducted based on the school preference criteria of the applicant. The dates of the draw will be notified later.
- 14. Admission on online allotment of school to a child will be on provisional basis, to be confirmed only after the documents are verified by the allotted school.
- 15. The successful candidates/applicants of the computerized draw of lots shall be informed about the school allotted for admission under EWS/DG category through SMS on their registered mobile number, within 24 hours of completion of draw of lots.
- 16. The applicants will be able to check the name of the school allotted through Computerized Draw of Lots using Registration ID and Date of Birth available at the Home page of the departmental website online.chdeducation.gov.in .
- 17. Cancellation of admission: If the successful applicant fails to approach/report the school by the designated time for as per message communicated through SMS to successful candidates for completing the formalities for admission under EWS/DG category, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.
. 18. The school will also be able to check the details of the students/applicants allotted through computerized draw of lots on departmental website online.chdeducation.gov.in using the school ID and Password.
- 19. The school, shall update the correct admission status as per the options available on the web page of the respective schools
- 20. Every selected student will be allotted a Serial Number in order of their selection in the respective school through computerized draw of lot and list of candidates will be forwarded online in the same order to the respective schools. The school shall give admission to the selected candidates in order of the Serial Number allotted to the candidate through computerized draw of lots and as available on the online module
- 21. In case of the rejection of admission by the school, the school shall clearly specify, in detail, the reason of rejection. The category of the reasons may be selected from the following grounds:-
- (i) Non-submission of valid residence proof of Chandigarh
- (ii) Non-submission of valid EWS/DG & CWSN proof.
- (iii) For EWS, the Income Certificate does not show annual income as less than one lakh fifty thousand per annum.
- (iv) Duplicate entry.
- (v) Other reason - specify
- 22. The admission of the child shall be cancelled in case the documents submitted by the applicant at the time of admission or at later stage are found to be forged/fake/incorrect/manipulated etc and strict penal action shall follow on the parents/guardian of the child.
- 23. Monitoring Cell: To redress the queries and grievances, a monitoring cell shall be constituted under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Director of the Department of Education, which is as under:-
- (a) Dy. Director-IV, O/o DSE, UT, Chandigarh-Chairperson
- (b) District Education Officer, UT, Chandigarh- (or Nominee) - Member
- (c) Circle Auditor(Private Schools) O/o DEO, UT ,Chandigarh-Member
- (d) Two Representatives from the Private Schools -To be nominated by DSE, UT, Chd.
- 24. All the Private Unaided Recognized Schools of UT Chandigarh, (list enclosed} are directed to register for online admission to the EWS/DG category in the Entry Level Classes by no later than 29.12.2022, failing to do, the action will be taken as per rules without further reference to the school.
- 25. Any grievance/ complaints or queries relating to admission process in EWS/DG category may be registered at the link ewsgrievancescell@gmail.com or at helpline numbers 0172-5021692 (between 10.00 AM to 5.00PM (except lunch time 1.00 pm to 1.30 pm) on all working days ( Monday to Friday).
